Set your desktop ...

If you have a PC, your desktop background can be set to display real-time satellite images collected at Oregon State University. The most recent image is always stored at the URL: http://picasso.coas.oregonstate.edu/ORSOO/MODIS/DB/images/latest-new.jpg.

To set your desktop, take the following steps:

1    Right-click on your desktop and select "Properties".
2     Select the "Desktop" tab, and click on the "Customize Desktop" button.
3    Select the "Web" tab, and click on the "New" button.
4    For the location, enter:
   http://picasso.coas.oregonstate.edu/ORSOO/MODIS/DB/images/latest-new.jpg
   and click "OK" (two times).
5    Select the above URL from the list, click on the "Properties" button, 
   then select the "Schedule" tab.
6    Follow the instructions. (NOTE: To ensure viewing of all passes 
   as they are collected, set the schedule to update the image hourly.)
7    Click "OK" in each window to exit and apply the changes.

All images on this website are freely available to the public for educational and scientific use.
